AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning classification as follows: From Residential (R1) to Commercial (C-3) of the following property: (David Hughey Subdivision Browns Lane).

 

Part of the South 132 feet of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Southeast Corner of said Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter; thence South 89°31’30” West 50 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue South 80°03’30” West 609.1 feet; thence North 0°08’48” East 132 feet; thence North 89°03’30” East 609.2 feet; thence South 0°11’30” West 132 feet to the point of beginning proper containing 1.846 acres lying in Craighead County, Arkansas.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of March, 1985.
