A Public Hearing was held at 7:15 p.m. regarding an alley abandonment between Gordon and Allen by Gary Holland. No objection was voiced.

City Council Minutes - July 5, 1988

The Jonesboro City Council met at 7:30 p.m. in regular session. Present were Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney, and all Aldermen with the exception of Mr. Sanderson, who was absent.

The minutes of June 20, 1988, were approved as mailed on motion by Mr. Parks, seconded by Mr. Evans. All voted aye.

Mr. Hinson offered the following ordinance for first reading:

AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE A FIFTEEN FOOT ALLEY RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH BETWEEN ALLEN AND GORDON STREETS BEING BOUNDED ON THE WEST BY LABAUME AND ON THE EAST BY MILLER STREET

Mr. Hinson moved, seconded by Mr. Nix to suspend the rules and place the ordinance on second reading. All voted aye. The ordinance was read for the second time.

Mr. Stricklin offered the following ordinance for first time:

AN ORDINANCE TO CONDEMN STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 3809 STEVENS, 317 W. WOODROW, 2414 Boydston, 4108 RACE, 500 FLOCK OF HOUSTON

Mr. Evans moved, seconded by Mr. Shelton to suspend the rules and place on second reading. All voted aye. The ordinance was read for the second time.

The following ordinance was on third reading: (Rez/R -1 to R -2, SW side of Curtview & Race, Rainwater)

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

Mr. Mays moved, seconded by Mr. Hannah for the adoption of the ordinance with the emergency clause. All voted aye. The ordinance was given the number 2132.

The following ordinance was on third reading: (Rez/R -1 to C -3, Wood Estates 8.5 acres)

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES
