AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO 1001, §2, BOARD OF REVIEW, POWERS AND DUTIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that Ordinance No. 1001, §2 be amended as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 1001, §2 is hereby amended to read as follows: Any person may register an appeal with the Board of Review of any decision of the city inspector in regard to any building, electrical or plumbing installation, provided that such appeal is made in writing within ten (10) days after said person shall have been notified of such decision by the city inspector. Upon receipt of such appeal the board shall proceed to determine whether the action of the city inspector complies with the laws and ordinances of the city, and technical codes adopted hereby, and within ten (l0) days after such appeal shall make a decision in accordance with its findings.
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that there is a need to insure reasonable time for both the filing and consideration of appeals to the Board of Review which necessitates the above amendment, and therefore this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
