AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZED PURCHASE OF RADIO EQUIPMENT FOR JONESBORO FIRE DEPARTMENT

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1: That Jonesboro Fire Department of the City of Jonesboro needs to purchase the following: Motorola radio equipment.
SECTION 2: That said radio equipment can be purchased from Motorola, Inc. (an only source) for the sum of $7,712.00 which will be paid from ACT 833 monies as approved by the Council.
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 (2B) hereby waive the requirement of competitive bidding and hereby directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire this equipment, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the Public peace, health and safety shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
