AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT OF CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS; ASSIGNING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 4; ZONING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY RESIDENTIAL (R-1); DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, a petition for the annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereinafter more fully described, was duly filed in the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas on April 28th, 1987; and,
WHEREAS, said petition for the annexation of the land was duly signed by the sole owners of all of the acreage to be annexed to the City of Jonesboro; and,
WHEREAS, an order setting a hearing upon said petition was duly had and held in the Quorum Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, on May 26th, 1987 at 7:00 o’clock p.m. at which hearing it was duly found and declared that the petition for annexation was right and proper and that the lands hereinafter more fully described should be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, where upon an order of annexation was made and entered; and,
WHEREAS, thirty (30) days have expired since the order of annexation was filed on June 9th, 1987 and no proceedings to prevent the annexation have been filed in the Circuit Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas, the annexation proceedings were in all things confirmed by the Quorum Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, by its order of June 24th, 1987.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AN ENACTED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section One: The territories and lands annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas by order of the Quorum Court of Craighead County, Arkansas filed May 26th, 1987 be and are hereby accepted by the City Jonesboro, Arkansas, and the territory hereinafter more fully described shall be hereafter deemed and taken to be a part of parcel of the limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas and the inhabitants residing t...
