AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated 14-42-107 et seq provides that interest in office or contracts is prohibited by any alderman, council member, official or municipal employee; and
WHEREAS, Mikel Fears serves as an Account Executive for SuddenLink, located at 1707 Stone Street, Jonesboro, Arkansas which provided services to some locations for data, phone and video services to the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS, special permission must be granted by the Jonesboro City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas for Mikel Fears, Account Executive for SuddenLink to provide services to the City of Jonesboro.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1: The City Council for the City of Jonesboro gives special permission for Mikel Fears, Account Executive with SuddenLink to be allowed to participate in competitive bidding and provide services for the City of Jonesboro.
