AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3600 FOR THE PURPOSE OF DELETING ONE POLICE SERGEANT POSITION AND ADDING ONE LIEUTENANT POSITION IN THE 2006 BUDGET

WHEREAS, the addition of one additional Lieutenant to facilitate narcotics enforcement in the Police Department has been recommended by the Public Safety Committee and the Finance Committee; 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:  

SECTION 1: The 2006 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro is amended by the addition of one Lieutenant Position to facilitate narcotics enforcement in the Police Department and the deletion of one Sergeant Position.

SECTION 2: There are sufficient funds in the budget and no additional money will need to be appropriated.

SECTION 3: Due to the immediate need to facilitate efficient operations of the Jonesboro Police Department there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
