AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF METRO CONNECTIONS FOR A COMMUNICATIONS TOWER, THE PROPOSED NEW FIRE LOCATION (TOWER PARK), GUEST NETWORK SERVICES LOCATED AT 300 S. CHURCH STREET AND THE CITY'S AIRPORT FACILITY FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION ONE: That the Information Systems Departments needs to purchase metro connections for connections at the individually listed connections.
SECTION TWO: That said service may be purchased from Ritter Communications, a sole source provider and the City's fiber provider, for the sum of $1,434.85 per month for 60 months to be paid from the General Fund.
SECTION THREE: That an emergency exists in regards to a timely solution to remedy the ability to provide connectivity.
SECTION FOUR: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-303 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above.
SECTION FIVE: It is further found that due to immediate need to acquire this equipment an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
