AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF WEST JACKSON AVENUE BETWEEN UNION STREET AND MADISON STREET

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:    
 
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the streets designated as follows:
 
The portion of West Jackson Avenue running East and West, from the West Right Of Way Line of Union Street to the East Right Of Way Line of Madison Street.
 
SECTION 2: A copy of the Ordinance certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the recorder of Craighead County, Arkansas and shall be filed in the deed records of such office.
 
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas finds and declares that the above streets and portions of streets are not necessary for the general benefit and welfare of the public; that the owners of all the property abutting the above streets are in favor of the closure and vacation of the above street and that therefore an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
