A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING ONE ADDITIONAL SENIOR CAPTAIN POSITION

WHEREAS, It has been determined that the creation of one additional Senior Captain position is necessary for the efficient operations of the Transportation System;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:

SECTION ONE: The position of Senior Captain already exists in the City of Jonesboro Pay Plan (Resolution 2004:02) in Grade 12.

SECTION TWO:  That the positions of Senior Captains are filled through the promotion of Transit Captains from the existing file and rank of the Transportation System.

SECTION THREE:  The 2007 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro will not be affected by the addition of the Senior Captain position.

SECTION FOUR:  There are sufficient funds in the budget and no additional money will need to be appropriated.

SECTION FIVE:  Due to the immediate need to facilitate efficient operations of the Transportation Department this resolution shall be effective immediately.
