METROPOLITAN AREA PLANNING COMMISSION
APRIL 11, 2000
MEMBERS PRESENT: Beadles, Little, Damron, Gott, Finley, Krennerich, Pitts, Shaw, Phillips
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
Dr. Beadles opened the meeting by conducting a public hearing regarding a proposed amendment to the Residential Planned Unit Development Ordinance(PUD) that would delete commercial zoning from the list of eligible properties. Currently all residential zones, R-1, R-2 & R-3 as well as all commercial zones, C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4 & C-5 allow residential PUD developments. The amendment deletes commercial zoning from the ordinance. No one in attendance spoke in favor or against the proposal and the MAPC took the matter under advisement.
The minutes of the March 14, 2000 meeting were approved as prepared.
#1 RZ00-1 Wayne Anderson requested approval of rezoning from Residential R-3 to Commercial C-3 for Lots 9, 10, 11 & 12 in Block 14, Lots 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15 in Block 13, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 in Block 9 of Matthews Addition. The property is located as follows:
a. On the north side of Johnson Avenue between Miller Street and Bridge Street,
b. On the northeast corner of Johnson Avenue and continuing north on Bridge Street,
c. On the south side of Johnson Avenue, between Bridge Street and Drake Street
Ms. Finley made a motion to recommend approval of the request to the City Council with the stipulation that a site development plan be submitted to and approved by the MAPC prior to development. The motion was seconded by Mr. Pitts. Voting was 6 in favor, 2 opposed, REQUEST APPROVED WITH STIPULATIONS.
#2 RZ00-21 Robin Nix requested approval of rezoning from Residential R-1 to Commercial C-4 for Lot 10 of Marlo Acres First Addition. The general location of the property is on the southeast side of Southwest Drive, approximately 450' southwest of the intersection of Culberhouse Street.
