WHEREAS, the 2021 Pierce Pumper Truck was damaged at a fire on June 18, 2021, and,

WHEREAS, the City’s insurance company’s appraiser handled the transactions to their rules and regulations and.

WHEREAS, the G & W Diesel Service Inc of Memphis TN, the authorized dealer of the fire truck brand, and the city’s insurance company agreed upon the work to be done for the price of $43,970.32 which has been paid to the City on December 27, 2021 less $1,000 deductible.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO THAT:

Section 1:  An exceptional situation exists requiring the waiving of the conditions of competitive bidding, so that competitive bidding requirements are hereby waived, and the insurance and body shop agreed on the price of repairs.

Section 2:  Said expense will be paid from the insurance recovery monies, paid by Arkansas Municipal League Vehicle Program, and the Fire Department vehicle repair line for the deductible.

PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 18TH DAY OF JANUARY 2022.
