ORDINANCE TO SET THE SALARY OF THE CITY ATTORNEY

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That, the salary of the City Attorney of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is hereby fixed as $400.00 per month.
Section 2: That, all ordinances and laws and parts of ordinances and laws in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: It is hereby found by the City Council that the cost of living has arisen since the last time the salary of the City Attorney has been adjusted and that the case load of the dockets and the duties of the City Attorney has greatly increased since the last adjustment of salary; that the public interest and welfare require an increase in said salary immediately; that the efficient administration of justice requires that this ordinance should be effective beginning with the month of January, 1967. And emergency is hereby found and declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, this ordinance shall be in full force and effect effective the month of January, 1967.
