ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF HAMPTON DRIVE

WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas on the 21st day of March, 1957, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon all that portion of the street designated on the plat of Ridgecrest Addition to the said City, now appearing on record in the Office of the Recorder of Craighead County, Arkansas, in plat book record 48 at page 243, described as follows:
That portion of Hampton Drive in Ridgecrest Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, lying between Lot 33 in Block 9 of said Ridgecrest Addition and Lot 8 of Block 8 of said Ridgecrest Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the street or the portion thereof, herein described, has heretofore been dedicated to the public use as a street herein described; has not been actually used by the public generally for a period of at least five years subsequent to the filing of the plat; that all the owners of the property abutting upon the portion of the street to be vacated have filed with the Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of said portion of such street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its right, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the portion of the street designated as follows:
That portion of Hampton Drive in Ridgecrest Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, lying between Lot 33 in Block 9 of said Ridgecrest Addition and Lot 8 in Block 8 of said Ridgecrest Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, as shown by official plat...
