AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro is amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:
1. From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-4) of property described as: A part of Lot 4 of Cobb and Lee’s Survey of the Northwest Quarter of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest Corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 21; thence East 764 feet; thence North 210 feet; thence West 201.8 feet; thence North 415.33 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence East 316 feet; thence North 219.33 feet; thence West 316 feet; thence South 219.33 feet to the point of beginning proper; also, interest in a strip of land 16 feet wide East of said land used for highway.
2. From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-5) of property described as: The Southeast Corner of Patrick and East Matthews (85’ x 171’ x 85’ x 140.8’ and Lot Number 7 (239’ x 489.5’ commonly known as Earl Fair’s Subdivision of the North part of Lot 4 of Cobb and Lee’s Survey of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 20, Township 14 North, Range 4 East.
3. From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) of property described as: Lot 2 and 4, Block K of Sigler’s College Addition to the City of Jonesboro.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
