AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZED PURCHASE OF A 550G CASE DOZER FOR THE MATA DEPARTMENT

BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1: That the Mata Department of the City of Jonesboro needs to purchase the 550G Case Dozer which they have rented since Nov. 1998.
SECTION 2: That said equipment may be purchased from Town and Country located at 1701 Parker Road, Jonesboro, Arkansas. The rent paid in since November 1998 leaves the balance of $38,000.00, with funds being paid from Street Fund Reserves.
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accordance with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the above described equipment an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
