A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 08:099, ESTABLISHING RECOMMENDED LANGUAGE TO BE USED IN PREPARATION OF THE JONESBORO ECONOMICAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM REFERENDUM FOR THE 2008 GENERAL ELECTION

WHEREAS, on June 17, 2008, the City of Jonesboro previously adopted Resolution Number 08:099, establishing the recommended language to be used in preparation of the Jonesboro Economical Transportation System referendum in the 2008 General Election; AND
WHEREAS, the current wording of the ballot title could be misleading to the public and therefore should accurately reflect the referendum ballot title.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the following language be repealed in its entirety:
“Do you support the use of tax revenue from the City of Jonesboro General Fund to support and continue the Jonesboro Economical Transportation System also known as the Jonesboro Bus System and as J.E.T.S.”
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the repealed language be replaced with the following:
“Do you support the continued use of revenue from the City of Jonesboro General Fund to support and continue the Jonesboro Economical Transportation System also known as the Jonesboro Bus System and as J.E.T.S.”
