Minutes for the City Council meeting on January 4, 1954

The City Council of the City of Jonesboro met in regular session on the above named dated at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall. There were present: Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney, Fire Chief, Chief of Police and the following named Councilmen: Berry, Booker, Stricklin, Snow, Hendrix, Stephens, Copeland, Rogers, Johnson and Taylor.
Mr. Booker made the motion, seconded by Mr. Berry, that the Council accepts the Mayors appointment of JM Coleman as Fire Chief. Roll called. All aye.
Mr. Berry made the motion, seconded by Mr. Booker, that the Council accepts the appointment of Wes Mooneyham as the Chief of Police. Roll called. All aye.
Mr. Booker made the motion that the Fire Chief be authorized to have the brakes on the Seagraves repaired and any other equipment in need of repair. Mr. Stricklin seconded the motion. Roll called. All aye.
Mr. Booker made the motion, seconded by Mr. Johnson, that the Mayor and Parking Committee investigate the site for parking, located in the 100 Block of E. Johnson, with power to act. Roll called. All aye.
Mr. Booker made the motion, seconded by Mr. Stephens, that the reports be accepted and filed. All aye.
Mr. Stephens made the motion, seconded by Mr. Berry, that the bills as okayed by the Finance Committee be paid. Roll called. All aye.
Mr. Stephens made the motion, seconded by Mr. Hendrix, that Council adjourn. All aye. Council adjourned.
