AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:   

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Commercial (C-3) To Commercial (C-2) the following described property.

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

 

A Part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 20, Township 14 North, Range 4 East more particularly described as follows:  commencing at the Southeast Corner of said Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 20; thence South 89°16' West 618.4 feet; thence North 0°09' East 806.3 feet to the point of beginning proper, thence South 89°32' West 287.7 feet to the East Right Of Way Line of Market Place Lane, thence North 8°36' West along said Right Of Way Line 140.8 feet; thence continue along said Right Of Way Line along a curve to the Right, with a radius of 668.96 feet, a distance of 75.9 feet; thence North 89°32' East 316.4 feet, thence South 0°09 West 215.0 feet to the point of beginning proper; containing 1.498 acres more or less, which includes a part of Lot B of Market Place, Jonesboro, Arkansas.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
