AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF COOK STREET IN CARTWRIGHT AND FRENCH ADDITION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, on the 10th day of July, 1967, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon a street designated on the plat of Cartwright and French Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, which portion of street is described as follows:
That portion of Cook Street in the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, set out in the Plat of Cartwright and French Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, between French Street on the West and Cartwright Street on the East.
Whereas, after due notice as required by law, the City Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the street or portion thereof hereinabove described as theretofore been dedicated to the public use as a street; has not actually been used by the filing of Petition for abandonment; that all owners of property abutting the street to be vacated have filed with the City Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of said street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all of its right, together with the right of the public generally, in and to the portion of street in Cartwright and French Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, designated as follows:
That portion of Cook Street in the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, set out in the Plat of Cartwright and French addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, between French Street on the West and Cartwright Street on the East.
Section 2: A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the recorder ...
