AN ORDINANCE TO OFFICIALLY ACCEPT THE AREAS ANNEXED INTO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS ON APRIL 7, 1989, TO ZONE THOSE AREAS R-1, RESIDENTIAL, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas: 

SECTION 1:   The area described in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2137, adopted on September 6, 1988, is hereby accepted as being annexed into the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas effective on April 7, 1989.

SECTION 2:   That all lands annexed into the City of Jonesboro,  Arkansas on April 7, 1989 and described in Section 1 above are hereby zoned R-1, Residential.

SECTION 3:   If for any reason, any portion of this Ordinance is held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining portions thereof which are valid, but such valid portions shall remain in full force and effect.

SECTION 4:   It is found and declared by the City Council that an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5^th day of June, 1989.
