ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, the following described land are currently zoned "R-2" residential use classification:
Lots 1, 4, 5 and 8 and part of Lots 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Block 4 of Broadaway Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the above described lands are owned by St. Bernard's Hospital, Inc., and Jonesboro Real Estate Holdings Company; and
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has recommended that said lands be rezoned to the C-1 commercial use classification; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that all applicable laws of the State of Arkansas and of the City of Jonesboro have been complied with in presenting this ordinance to the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, codified as Title 14 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code, should be, and it hererby is amended so that the lands hereinabove described are zoned as the "C-1" commercial use classification.
SECTION 2: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are herby repealed.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is hereby directed to amend the official zoning district boundary map of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, insofar as it relates to the lands described hereinabove so that the zoning classification of said lands shall be in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance.
