AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON PORTIONS OF GORDON STREET BEGINNING 140 FEET WEST OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH FOURTH STREET AND CONTINUING WEST UNTIL ITS INTERSECTION WITH McCLURE STREET AND WORD STREET BETWEEN FORTH STREET AND McCLURE STREET. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
 
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the street designated as follows: Gordon Street, beginning 140 feet West of its intersection with Fourth Street and continuing West until its intersection with McClure Street and Word Street between Fourth Street and McClure Street.
 
SECTION 2: A copy of the ordinance duly certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Craighead County, Arkansas and shall be filed in the Deed Records of such office.
 
SECTION 3: That all utility Easements remain as currently existing on deed records.  That the streets in question will not be physically closed to the public until the intersection of Johnson & Culberhouse is improved.
 
SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas finds and declares that the above streets and portion of streets are not necessary for the general benefit and welfare of the public; that the owners of all the property abutting the above streets are in favor of the closure and vacation of the above streets and that therefore an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
