AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (RZ90-15) by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Residential (R-2) the following described property:   (E. Side Barnhill Rd. S. of Highland Dr. - Lynda Wewers)

 

A  part  of the  NW 1/4 of the  NW 1/4 of  Section 27,  T14N,  R5E,  more particularly described as follows:   Begin at the southwest corner of said NW 1/4, NW 1/4; thence run north along the section line 654.5 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence run north along the section line 288.5 feet; thence north 89°50' east 755.8 feet, more or less, to said centerline of Maple Slough Ditch; thence south 8°37' west along said centerline 246.5 feet; thence south 88°59' west 720 feet, more or less, to said section line and the pint of beginning proper, containing 5.0 acres, more or less, and being subject to easement for electric power lines off the west side of the tract and a public road right-of-way off the west side of the tract.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
