ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3506 KNOWN AS THE 2005 BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, has previously established the 2005 city budget through Ordinance No. 3506; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, now desires to amend the provisions of Ordinance No. 3506 to include the 2004 Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (for the purchase of hostage negotiation video phone, taser devices, and high speed scanning equipment).

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:    

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 3506 is amended in accordance with the following:

 

That the sum of $45,991.00 is added to the 2005 Federal Grants Fund Expenditures for the Justice Assistance Grant and that the sum of $41,810.00 (the grant award) is added to the 2005 Federal Grants Fund Revenues as Justice Assistance Grant.  The remaining local match of $4,181.00 is to be transferred from the Unappropriated Sales Tax Fund to the Federal Grants Revenue Fund.

 

SECTION 2: If any provision of this ordinance is determined to be unlawful or unconstitutional, that said illegality or said unconstitutionality shall not be taken as to provide only one provision and the rest and remainder of said ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.

 

SECTION 3: It is necessary that the finances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas be efficiently administered and accounted for and whereas this ordinance is necessary for the proper establishment of the transfer of appropriations, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
