AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE EAST-WEST ALLEY IN THE 1300 BLOCK WEST OF MAIN STREET BOUNDED BY MATTHEWS, PURYEAR, JEFFERSON, AND FLOYD

WHEREAS, a petition for the closing of the above described alley in the City of Jonesboro, was duly filed on the 7th day of October, 1980; and,
 
WHEREAS, said petition was duly signed by the owners of a majority of the property in this block; and,
 
WHEREAS, a hearing was set for the 3rd day of November, 1980 before the City Council at it's regularly scheduled meeting on the 20th day of October, 1980.
 
WHEREAS, seven days have expired since the publication of the required notice in the Jonesboro Sun and no proceedings or objections have been noted or taken to prevent said alley closing,
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
 
Section 1: The territories known as Block B of the Little Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas and known as the east-west alley in the 1300 block west of Main Street Bounded by Matthews, Puryear, Jefferson and Floyd to be permanently closed. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
 
PASSED and ADOPTED this 1stday of December, 1980.
