AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A 1985 MACK TRUCK TRACTOR

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1: The Street Department of the City of Jonesboro needs to purchase the following: 1985 Mack Truck Tractor, Serial No. 1M2N16245EA088534
SECTION 2: That said truck can be purchased from J & O Diesel located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the sum of Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($13,500) and with the trade in of a 1977 Model Ford truck Serial # K7OQV881424.
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 (2) (B) hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described for the price set forth above in Section 2 above. Said amount shall be paid by money from the Street Department's fixed assets line item in the Street Department Budget.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the above vehicle an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
