The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met on Thursday, February 11, 1971 in the court room of the City Hall.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott, Lane, King, Griffin, Young, Adams, and House.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Spurlock and Falls.
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Scott.
Minutes of the January 14, 1971 meeting were read and approved.
Items for business were as follows:
Item #1. Bob Bennett, 2nd (Preliminary). This property is located north of Jonesboro, east off of Hwy 141. (Carry over from January meeting.) A motion was made by Mr. Lane and seconded by Mr. Young to approve. The vote was YEA: Lane, King, Griffin, Young, and House. NO: Adams. The motion was passed.
Item #2. Parker’s Woodland Hills Subdivision, 5th Addition. Final approval is request. Property is located at Wood Street and Woodsprings Road, Linden, and Twin Oaks. The motion was made by Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Griffin to give approval. The vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #3. Hughes-Grundon Subdivision. This property is located between Main and Church Streets, at what would be Popular Avenue. Replat of part of Lot 36 into eight lots. The motion was made by Mr. Young and seconded by Mr. Lane to approve the replat on the stipulation that the City Council votes to close the Popular Street alley. The vote was YEA: Lane, King, Young, Adams, and House. NO: Griffin. The motion was passed.
Item #4. Plat of McCallister’s. First replat of part of Block 2 of Krewson’s Addition. Property located at northeast corner of Huntington Avenue and Flint Street. The motion was made by Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Young to approve the replat. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
