AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 10-11 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, INCREASING THE MONTHLY GARBAGE FEES FOR RESIDENTIAL UNITS (SINGLE FAMILY DWELLINGS AND MULTI FAMILY DWELLINGS) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY (NOTE: THIS ORDINANCE WAS AMENDED BY ORD-82:1807 ON DECEMBER 20, 1982)

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro. Arkansas:
Section 1: That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Section 10-11 is hereby amended by increasing the now existing monthly rates for garbage collection as follows:
a. All single family dwelling units shall pay $5.50 per month.
b. All multi family dwelling units shall pay $4.95 per month.
Section 2: City Water & Light is hereby authorized to bill each single family dwelling and each multi family dwelling as indicated in subsection (a) and (b).
Section 3: The City Collector shall as $.55 per month where applicable under subsection (b).
Section 4: All ordinances and/or parts of ordinance in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City is in need of additional revenues and an increase in the rate is necessary for continued efficient sanitary services; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
