METROPOLITAN AREA PLANNING COMMISSION
MARCH 10, 1998
MEMBERS PRESENT: Coleman, Damron, Gardner, Beadles, Shaw and Phillips
MEMBERS ABSENT: Little, Finley and Pitts
Minutes of the February 10, 1998 meeting were approved as submitted.
#1 RZ98-8 Charles Johnston requested approval of rezoning from Residential R-1 to Commercial C-3 for .95 acre located in the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 10, T14N, R4E. The property is located at 4309 E. Johnson Avenue.
Ms. Shaw moved to recommend approval to the City Council to bring existing use into compliance. Dr. Beadles seconded, 5 voted aye, 0 no, REQUEST APPROVED.
#2 RZ98-9 Bobby Barton and Richard Nahas requested approval of rezoning from Residential R-2 to Commercial C-3 for .53 acre located in the NW 1/4, SW 1/4 of Section 27, T14N, R3E. The property is located at 3509 Race Street.
Dr. Beadles moved to recommend approval to the City Council subject to right of way on Race being 50' from centerline and on Richardson Drive, 30' from centerline. Ms. Shaw seconded, 5 voted aye, 0 no, REQUEST APPROVED WITH STIPULATIONS.
#3 PP98-2 Kenny Findley requested preliminary approval of subdivision plans for Forest Run Addition containing 7 lots on 5.25 acres. The general location of the property is west of Renee Drive, north of Pine Hill Lane.
Ms. Shaw moved to approve subject to:
1. Need scupper inlets
2. Drainage plan
3. Work with neighbors toward fixing drainage, not causing more problems
4. Check with Fire Department on island in cove
5. New street name to be chosen
6. Staff Comments
Mr. Damron seconded, 5 voted aye, 0 no, REQUEST APPROVED WITH STIPULATIONS.
#4 PP98-2 Robert Rees requested preliminary approval of subdivision plans for Highland Subdivision, Phase II containing 38 lots on 8.81 acres. The general location of the property is north of Highland Drive, east of Amanda Drive.
