A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO GRANTS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR THE FY 2012 SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL GRANT PROGRAM

Whereas, the City of Jonesboro will apply for federal funding through the Arkansas Safe Routes to School Program to construct sidewalks near schools in Jonesboro School District, Valley View School District, and Nettleton School District; and
Whereas, the requested amount is $300,000 and is allocated in the FY 2013 City of Jonesboro budget, and
Whereas, this is a 100% grant and the project will be of no cost to the City of Jonesboro.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: The City of Jonesboro Grants and Community Development Department will apply for the FY 2012 Safe Routes to School Grant, and
Section 2: If the City of Jonesboro City Council pledges its full support of this application.
