AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

 

Part of the South 1/4 of the South 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 4,  Township 13 North, Range 4 east, more particularly described as follows:  Commence at the Southwest corner of said Section 4; thence North 9.4 feet; thence South 89°32' 20" East 364.16; thence in an Easterly direction along the right of way of State Highway No. 1-B on a curve to the right (radius 533.23 delta angle 14°35'25") 135.79 feet; thence North 89°21'17" East 1384.75 feet to the point of beginning; thence North 28°1'28" East 419.03 feet; thence 89°25'19" East 400.0 feet; thence in a Southwesterly direction on a curve to the right (radius 1871.43 delta angle 4°33'10") 148.71 feet; thence South 31°38'16" West 282.5 feet thence South 89°21'17" West 375.2 feet to the point of beginning, containing 3.32 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
