A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT (AHTD) FOR A STREET SIGNALIZATION MASTER SITE

WHEREAS, AHTD has recognized the existing master sites in Jonesboro are not adequate to handle the control of signalization at intersections current and proposed intersections; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro currently does not have adequate existing master sites to control street signalization due to the loss of one of the existing tower sites (Strawfloor Drive); and
WHEREAS, AHTD is proposing to add a new master site to serve current and future needs at the existing radio tower of the City's 911 Center; and
WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent has funds budgeted in 02-100-0239-00--Street Signalization to cover the required 10% match; and
WHEREAS, a copy of this agreement is attached to this resolution;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute such documents as are necessary to effectuate this agreement.
