A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) GRANT OFFER FOR AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (AIP) PROJECT NO. 3-05-0033-015-2008.

WHEREAS, the Jonesboro City Council understands the importance aviation plays in the local economy and industrial recruitment efforts; and
WHEREAS, through the Jonesboro Municipal Airport Commission (Sponsor) the City of Jonesboro has been awarded a grant by the FAA in the amount of $611,240.00, representing 95% of the total project cost of $643,411.00, supporting the rehabilitation of a portion of apron pavement at the Jonesboro Airport.
WHEREAS, the State of Arkansas is providing the local match of $31,170, representing 5% of the total project cost; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, as the governing body of the Sponsor, must accept the grant offer.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the grant acceptance agreement from the FAA for AIP Project No. 3-05-0033-015-2008 and to submit any and all documents as set forth by the FAA.
