AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A CERTAIN PART OF CREATH STREET AND PART OF CHURCH STREET NO PARKING AREA AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: From and after passage and adoption of this Ordinance, part of Creath Street and part of Church Street as set forth herein shall be designated as a “No Parking Area”, to-wit:
A. No parking on either side of Creath Street form East Street to Carson Street and from Bridge Street to Patrick Street.
B. No parking on either side of Church Street from Steele Street to Nettleton Avenue.
Section 2: The Chief of Police or some other person designated by him is hereby directed to place and locate upon the above described streets at the proper places, appropriate signs reading “no parking”, and it is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to tear down or mutilate such signs.
Section 3: Every person convicted of a violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $25.00.
Section 4: All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council that the increasing amount of traffic congestion and lack of traffic control devices have caused danger to life and property and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and adoption.
