AN ORDINANCE TO TO WAIVE COMPETITVE BIDDING AND PURCHASE TEN (10) ALPHA OPTION 6 BATTERY BACKUPS FOR HIGH TRAFFIC INTERSECTIONS IN THE CITY OF JONESBORO

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: That the City of Jonesboro has the need for battery backup at high traffic intersection to ensure uninterrupted operation of traffic signals during power outages.
SECTION 2: That the City of Jonesboro shall purchase ten (10) Alpha Option 6 Battery Backups from Temple, Inc. to be installed at high traffic intersections to ensure uninterrupted operation of traffic signals during power outages for $3,750.00 (plus tax and shipping) each. That said sum shall be paid from Capital Improvements budget.
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accordance with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order for the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above.
