RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT RIGHT-OF-WAY FROM THE AMERICAN LEGION AND PEOPLE PROPERTY ASSOCIATION FOR THE EXTENSION OF BRIDGE STREET

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro has previously adopted as part of its street improvement plans for the year 1964 the extension of Bridge Street from East Washington Avenue in a southeasterly direction to an intersection with Kitchen street and the exact location of such street extension has now been established; and
WHEREAS, the owners of the property which will be traversed by such proposed street right-of-way being Picket Post No. 21 of the American Legion and People Property Association, Inc., have offered to dedicate a 60 foot right-of-way in accord with these descriptions and drawings prepared by Fred Haywood, engineer, said dedication to be without cost to the City of Jonesboro or the public;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the proposed dedication of an extension of Bridge Street by Picket Post No. 21 of the American Legion and People Property Associations, Inc., be accepted without payment of any kind to such property owners.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if any consideration or compensation of any kind whatsoever is paid by the City to People Property Association, Inc., then a like consideration in a proportionate ratio shall be also paid or given to Picket Post No. 21 of the American Legion for such right-of-way.
