AN ORDINANCE PARTIALLY LIFTING THE HIRING FREEZE PLACED UPON THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HIRING THREE ADDITIONAL POLICE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL

WHEREAS, an immediate need has arisen for the hiring of (3) three police department personnel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: The hiring freeze placed upon the police department until May 1, 1993 be lifted to allow the hiring of three (3) police department personnel.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared that due to the immediate need to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that an emergency is declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of April, 1993.
