A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRANT OFFER FOR THE AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas seeks to improve the Jonesboro Municipal Airport and has been approved for grant funding assistance; and
WHEREAS, in order to obtain the funds necessary to develop and/or improve the Jonesboro Municipal Airport it is necessary to participate in the Airport Improvement Program offered by the Federal Aviation Administration, Project No. 3-05-0033-09-00.
WHEREAS, the plans for such airport improvements include an environmental assessment with an estimated grant funding of $40,000.00, by the Federal Aviation Administration, and therefore has been established; and
WHEREAS, this governing body understands the grantee and grantor will enter into a binding agreement which obligates both parties to policies and procedures contained in the Airport Improvement Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO that the Mayor is hereby authorized to make application to the Federal Aviation Administration to participate in the Grant Offer for Airport Improvement Program, Project No. 3-5-0033-09-00 for the City of Jonesboro; therefore such application shall be submitted as expediently as possible.
