A RESOLUTION TO CONTRACT WITH ARKANSAS PARKS AND TOURISM FOR THE 2007 OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT

Body

WHEREAS, The City of Jonesboro was awarded $130,000 by Arkansas Parks and Tourism to be matched with City of Jonesboro Funds for the 2007 Outdoor Recreation Grant Project; and

WHEREAS, Plans and specifications for the bath house at Craighead Forest Park Campground have been approved by the Department of Parks and Tourism and the City of Jonesboro must enter into a contract to receive the notice to proceed; and

WHEREAS, The Outdoor Recreation Grant is a 50/50 matching grant and the funds for the match were allocated in the 2007 budget under “Parks and Tourism Grant” in the grant section;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

Section 1: The City of shall enter into an agreement with the Department of Parks and Tourism to construct a bath house at Craighead Forest Park;

Section 2: The Mayor, Doug Formon and City Clerk, Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the agreement.
