RESOLUTION TO DESIGN THE ORIGINAL HIGHWAY 63 AS 63 BUSINESS ROUTE

WHEREAS, the construction of Highway 63 Bypass at Jonesboro has been completed; and

WHEREAS, said Bypass has been designated as Route 63 permitting traffic to bypass the City of Jonesboro; and

WHEREAS, the Arkansas State Highway Department has determined it necessary and proper to designate a Highway 63 business route to the City of Jonesboro; and

WHEREAS, the original Highway 63 remains available and open to vehicular traffic, the City Council recommends that said route be designated as Highway 63 Business Route to avoid traffic congestion and to facilitate the flow of traffic through the City of Jonesboro.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas requests that the Arkansas State Police Department designated original Highway 63 as 63 Business Route in Jonesboro, so as to avoid traffic congestion and facilitate the flow of traffic through the City of Jonesboro.
