The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Present were the Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney, and all the Aldermen.

The minutes of December 16, 1991, were approved as corrected, changing paragraph 4, page two to read Joe Williams instead of Mark Forbes on motion of Mr. Stricklin seconded by Mr. Hannah. All voted aye.

The ordinance rezoning from R-2 to C-3, North of Johnson Ave. was tabled till the next Council Meeting.

Mr. Hinson offered a resolution requesting approval of the purchase of six (6) police vehicles at $13,601.67 each for a total of $81,610.02. Mr. Hannah moved, seconded by Mr. Evans for the adoption of the resolution. All voted aye. The resolution was given the number 1992:01.

Mr. Hinson offered a resolution requesting approval of the purchase of one (1) police van for $15,390.00 to be used for the new work release program. Mr. Hannah moved, seconded by Mr. Nix for the adoption of the resolution. All voted aye. The resolution was given the number 1992:02.

Mr. Stricklin offered a resolution requesting CWL to provide free installation and construction costs for a caution light at Church and Thomas Green Road, two (2) water meters (Bell Community Center and Jaycees Park) , and a floodlight at the E-911 Building. Mr. Stricklin moved, seconded by Mr. Shelton for the adoption of the resolution. All vote aye. The resolution was given the number 1992:03

Item seven (7) on the agenda - Bids on a copy machine for the Administration Department were tabled as were the bids on a cab and chassis for Parks and Recreation.

Under new business Mr. Stricklin moved, seconded by Dr. Strauser to accept Mr. Hinson by acclamation as Vice Mayor for 1992. All voted aye.
