AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT OF CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS, ASSIGNING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD TWO (2); ZONING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY RESIDENTIAL (R-2); DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FURTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, a petition for the annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereinafter more fully described, was duly filed in the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas on April 12th, 1991; and
WHEREAS, an order setting a hearing upon said petition was entered, notice was duly published of said hearing and a hearing upon said petition was duly had and held in the Quorum Court of Craighead County, Arkansas on July 29th, 1991 at 7:00 o'clock p.m., at which hearing it was duly found and declared that the petition for annexation was right and proper and that the lands hereinafter more fully described should be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, whereupon an order of annexation was made and entered; and,
WHEREAS, thirty (30) days have expired since the order of annexation was filed on July 29th, 1991 and no proceedings to prevent the annexation have been filed in the Circuit Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas, the annexation proceedings were in all things confirmed by the Quorum Court of Craighead County, Arkansas. By its order of September 6th, 1991.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: The territories and lands annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas by order of the Quorum Court of Craighead County, Arkansas filed July 29th, 1991 be and are hereby accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and the territory hereinafter more fully described shall be hereafter deemed and taken to be a part and parcel of the limits of the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas and the inhabitants residing therein shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of...
