AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CITY OF JONESBORO 2011 BUDGET TO PURCHASE "NET MOTION" SOFTWARE FOR THE POLICE DEPARMENT USING JAG 2009, JAG 2010, AND JAG 2011 FEDERAL GRANT FUNDS.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1. That the Police Department of the City of Jonesboro needs to purchase the following: "Net Motion" software.
SECTION 2. That said software can be purchased from "Relativity" for the sum of $42,532, which includes the software, 3 years of support, and tax.
SECTION 3. That funding for said software will be obtained from the 2009, 2010, and 2011 Justice Assistance Grants.
SECTION 4. That the City of Jonesboro 2011 budget should be amended to include the cost of said software.
SECTION 5. It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire this software an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect form and after its passage and approval. The current test phase of this software expires on November 30, 2011; therefore, it is vital to purchase said software by this time to avoid an interruption in service.
