RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH CRAIGHEAD COUNTY TO CREATE A JOINT COMMISSION TO OPERATE, MANAGE AND MAINTAIN AND USE THE OLD FEDERAL BUILDING

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and the County of Craighead, Arkansas have jointly purchased the old Federal Building located on Church Street, Jonesboro, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and the County of Craighead, Arkansas desires to enter into a joint agreement to operate, manage, maintain and use said building for public purposes, and
WHEREAS, the law in the state of Arkansas requires the governing bodies of the participating public agencies to approve a joint agreement before same becomes effective, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas desires to enter into a joint agreement with the County of Craighead creating a joint commission to operate, manage, maintain and use said facility, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to enter into and execute all documents necessary to enter into a joint agreement with the County of Craighead.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute any and all necessary documents needed to enter into a joint agreement with Craighead County to create a joint commission to operate, manage and maintain and use the old Federal Building, located on Church Street, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
