RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE AND ABANDON HAMPTON DRIVE LYING BETWEEN LOT 33 IN BLOCK 9 AND LOT 8 IN BLOCK 8 OF THE RIDGECREST ADDITION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS: it appears that on the 14th day of December, 1947 a Dedication was executed by W.H. Pitts and Laura Pitts, his wife, claiming to own certain real property therein described as shown by plat and certificate of survey then filed and recorded in Deed Record Book #48 at page 243 of the records of the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas, which included the following described real property:

Lot 33 in Block 9 and Lot 8 in Block 8 of Ridgecrest Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and

WHEREAS, it appears that a portion of a certain street shown in the plat and known as Hampton Drive lying between Lot 33 in Block 9 and Lot 8 in Block 8 of said Ridgecrest Addition has never actually been open to the public use, has never been formally accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and

WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by Mode Gregory and Lois Gregory, his wife, and George J. Wilson and Idel E. Wilson, his wife, claiming to be the owners of all property abutting on said portion of said street in said Ridgecrest Addition alleging that such portion of said street has not been actually used before the filing of the petition by the public as a street for more than five years; and requesting the City Council to vacate said portion of said street;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, in regular session assembled, this the 20th day of May, 1957 that the 3rd day of June, 1957, is being the next regular session of said City Council, shall be fixed as the day for the hearing of such petition and the City Clerk is directed to give notice of such meeting by publication once a week for two consecutive weeks in the Jonesboro Sun, a newspaper published in Jonesboro, Arkansas and having a bona...
