AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE CITY OF JONESBORO TO PURCHASE (1) 2013 SUBURBAN FROM CENTRAL CHEVROLET CADILLAC FOR THE MAYOR'S OFFICE

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
WHEREAS, The City of Jonesboro Mayor's office needs to purchase (1) new suburban to replace an older suburban. Said suburban can be obtained from Central Chevrolet Cadillac, Jonesboro Arkansas for a total of $57,099.00.
WHEREAS, The following truck will be traded in: 2011 Chevrolet Suburban 4WD 4DR VIN #1GNSKKE39BR356602 with trade in amount of $40,500.00 leaving a net difference of $16,599.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and direct the purchasing officer to purchase the above described truck for the price set forth above.
SECTION 2. That Mayor Harold Perrin and City Clerk Donna Jackson are hereby authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to effectuate this agreement.
