RESOLUTION TO DIRECT THE CITY ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS TO ACQUIRE A RIGHT-OF-WAY ON THE EAST SIDE OF CARSON STREET BETWEEN WASHINGTON AND MONROE

WHEREAS, to enable a City to perform a part of its agreement with the City Water & Light Plant of Jonesboro concerning the lighting of streets in the vicinity of the proposed offices of that organization, it is necessary that the City acquire a right-of-way on the east side of Carson Street between Washington and Monroe; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the present owner, John Creighton, that the City acquire this property by condemnation rather than by direct purchase.

IT IS THEREFORE, RESOLVED  by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, directed to institute condemnation proceedings for street and parking purposes as to the following described property in the City of Jonesboro, to-wit:

All of Lot 3 of Cobb’s Survey of The Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of,  Section 18 Township 14 North, Range 4 East.

PASSED and ADOPTED this 6^th day of August, 1962.
