AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 2484 AND AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2280, THE NON-CONFORMING USE ORDINANCE, SECTION 13, TO EXTEND THE FILING DEADLINE FOR PROPERTY OWNERS TO REGISTER THEIR NON-CONFORMING USE AS IT EXISTED ON APRIL 7, 1989; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that Ordinance No. 2280 be amended as follows:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 2484 Is Repealed in its entirety and;
SECTION 2: Section 13 of Ordinance No. 2280 (Non-conforming Use Ordinance) is hereby amended to read as follows: for any property owner to take advantage of this Ordinance, that property owner must register his, her or its Non-conforming Land with the City Zoning Officer on forms to be provided no later than February 1, 1995. If a property owner, who owned land on April 7, 1989, fails to register within this time period then that property owner, his heirs, successors, or assigns may not utilize the provisions of this Ordinance, but nothing in this Ordinance shall preclude a property owner from filing for a zoning change as provided in the Code of Ordinances as they now exist or may hereafter be amended.
SECTION 3: Verification of non-conforming use shall be required. Proof of non-conforming use by April 7, 1989 shall be the responsibility of the property owner.
SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
