A RESOLUTION BY THE JONESBORO CITY COUNCIL TO WAIVE FORMAL BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH PLAY IT AGAIN SPORTS FOR PORTABLE BASEBALL MOUNDS AT JOE MACK CAMPBELL SPORTS COMPLEX FOR THE PARKS DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Parks Department for the City of Jonesboro needs to purchase portable mounds for the ten Artificial Turf Baseball Fields; and
WHEREAS, Quotes were received by multiple suppliers and Play It Again Sports provided the lowest quote of the three quotes secured for the portable mounds; and
WHEREAS, the only other companies available to give quotes are online companies that do not participate in closed bidding processes; and
WHEREAS, the cost of this project is $33,635.00.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-303 states that bidding in this matter is not practical and hereby waives the requirement of formal bidding due to the fact that Play it Again Sports is the local vendor, the lowest quote of the three quotes secured, and the fact that the only other suppliers are online companies that do not participate in closed bidding processes. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this purchase.
